Summary/Objective
Federal Solution is a SBA Certified 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) whose primary mission is to provide the Federal government with outstanding services in the areas of Program Management, Information Technology Enterprise Management, Healthcare Administration, and Testing & Evaluation.  We are recruiting for an important position at our government client site.

This position assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems. The position utilizes one-on-one consultancy to end users. The employee in this position also assists in the maintenance and testing of workstations and associated desktop equipment. The position’s responsibilities require independent analysis, communication and problem solving. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment.
 
Job Duties
  1. Ticket resolution and change request resolution. Tickets encompass things that have broken either physical on a device or a software issue. Change request are requests for things to be changed or added.
  2. Assists staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.
  3. Works with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
  4. Works with Help Desk and Network Operations staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from clients.
  5. Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment.
    Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.
  6. Trains and orients staff on use of hardware and software.
  7. Recommends and / or performs upgrades on systems to ensure longevity.
  8. Works with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software.
  9. Assesses functional needs to determine specifications for purchases.

Required Education, Experience and Skills
Minimum 3 years of experience in supporting desktops, laptops, thin client, and zero client hardware as well as Windows 7.   Base knowledge of support of VMWare View required.
 
Work Environment
This job operates in an office environment.
 
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, generally requiring 40 per week, Monday through Friday.
 
Travel
Minimal travel is expected for this position.
 
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to obtain the level of Industrial Security Clearance required by the Government.
