The HSPD12 Credentialing Specialist is responsible for working with federal employees and government contractors, assisting them with the process of obtaining their badges which provide access to government facilities and equipment. This position is in a busy office needs an individual with superb customer service skills as well as the ability to multitask. This position will analyze applicant's credentialing documents, ensuring compliance with the client’s operating procedures and maintains appropriate levels of control.

OFS is seeking a Credential Specialist to work full time for approximately 8 - 10 weeks effective in April-May timeframe from 8-4:30 pm Monday through Friday.  The position will then support the project as needed.

Job Duties

  1. Utilizing excellent customer service skills, interacts with federal employees and government contractors to answer inquiries regarding the process and assist as needed.
  2. Performs fingerprinting and takes badging photos of applicants. Distributes and activates Federal PIV cards along with completing PIN resets according the HSPD12 protocol procedures.
  3. Prepares correspondence to communicate when security forms are not complete, making sure to state required corrective actions and completion deadlines. Conduct any required follow-up to ensure correct forms are resubmitted by the appropriate deadline.
  4. Assist with the preparation and assembly of personnel security folders in accordance with client’s standard operating procedures.
  5. Assist with data-entry in tracking system.
  6. Schedule and prepare cases for transmittal to the investigating agency for further processing of completed security forms.
  7. Prepare statistical data reports monthly.
  8. Other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or related subject area, and at least 1 year experience working in a federal government environment is preferred. (Education can be substituted with years of experience in this field of expertise.) Must have familiarity with the process of obtaining badges and or security processing and fingerprinting. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have experience with Excel and Outlook. Must have exemplary customer service skills.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is generally requiring 40 hours week, Monday through Friday, between 8:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We anticipate full time hours for approximately 6-8 weeks and following that time period, the hours will be as needed.

No travel is expected for this position.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be a US citizen and be able to successfully pass a background investigation and credit check.
