LOCATION: WARREN, NEW JERSEY

This position is for an Applications Support team member with regards to providing hands on technical support for several mobile applications being either the client application and or server backend software. The primary function is to proactively monitor, support and troubleshoot an application(s) regarding its system health and operation with respect to resolving customer trouble tickets and supporting production matters.

The person should have very good experience with regards to reviewing and analyzing server logs relative to troubleshooting issues, this work will also include working closely with the development team with regards to managing software quality. Experience in developing test scripts to check the servers logs and or database using both Unix / Linux commands and SQL commands to retrieve information, create alerts and or reports. Resolve trouble tickets and writing defect reports in Quality Center regarding resolving software issues. Familiarity with products like Weblogic, WebSphere, Data Power, MQ, etc. The individual should also be used to using system monitoring tools such as Wily or Splunk to analyze and manage system health. Experience in checking on exceptions or other error handling procedures where past development experience is a plus. The individual should be familiar with the script languages such as Perl, Shell, etc. and SQL. It is plus if the individual is familiar with Java, J2EE, C++, XML, HTTP, Databases regarding supporting the applications. In dealing with mobile applications, being familiar with Android or IOS applications is a plus. The individual should also be familiar with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project) with regards to documenting maintenance plans, reports and or procedures.

Looking for a team player, who is able to work independently, highly motivated and possess good communications skills with regards to interacting with various cross-functional team members and in writing maintenance support documents.

The work will include off-hours support (evening work or weekend work) with regards to supporting production upgrades, maintenance windows and or system outages. The individual will be included in the on call rotation.

Qualifications

  • BS and or MS degree in a relevant technical field such as CS, EE or MIS
  • 3-10+ years of relevant work experience (infrastructure, applications support)
  • US Citizen or Green Card holder
